So, while we are locked in the house why not use our creativity to enhance the aesthetics of your home to give it a seasonal vibe with beautiful plants, vibrant decor, and fragrant candles. To make it easier for you we have drawn up monsoon home décor tips that you can try to add the vibrance and life to your house with these
Here are some of the beautiful monsoon home décor ideas to try at home: –
Upgrade the upholstery- Monsoon is all about the dull environment outside, grey clouds and the pitter-patter of rains. To beat the dullness of the monsoon, bring in some fresh colours in your living room and décor elements. Bring in colourful cushions, bedsheets and beautiful rugs to keep your feet warm too. Vibrant colours like orange, red, yellow can give your living room the much-needed radiance and life. You could also put floor cushions with colourful covers to make it look cosier and more welcoming
Fresh flowers- With rains around flowers are to bloom like never before and this calls for adding them to your living room. In fact, flowers are loved by everyone and they add positivity to the environment around them. Bring in some fresh roses, lilies, jasmine, orchids and more from your local flower shop and put them in a huge vase with fresh water. Most of these flowers have a good life and can brighten your room for at least a week or so and then you can change them again.
Scented candles- During monsoons you would have noticed dampness in the house leading to foul odour as well. One of the great ways to combat this situation is to light up few scented candles around the home. Choose aesthetically pleasing varieties that come in various fragrances. Add a touch of warmth to your home and enjoy the zen these beauties bring along with them.
Potpourri- Potpourri is a mixture of dried, naturally fragrant plant materials, used to provide a gentle natural scent, commonly in residential settings. There is a variety of fragrances available in the market. You can choose any one of your likings and keep these in 3-4 corners of the house in a beautiful glass bowl. It adds colour to the corners and also gives out mild fragrance in the surrounding.
Light and bright curtains- Monsoons means less sunshine and lack of warmth coming into the house. So, it’s a good idea to invest in light weighted and sheer kind of curtains that are easy with the breeze. Such curtains allow the wind to come in easily and helps ventilate the air within. Usually, heavy draperies like cotton and velvet can trap the foul and musty smell in the house and make the house look darker. Sheer and netted curtains give a light and airy feel to the house
Here is a lovely post on reasons you should drink wine. What better than monsoons to sip on your favorite wine in a beautifully decorated house.
Grow your greens- With rains around greenery is at its peak. You can add a dash of green in your house too. You can bring in some air purifying plants that not only cleanse the indoor air but also add beautify the living spaces. I have a wonderful list of air-purifying indoor plants. You can check this and decided upon the best ones for your house.
Windchimes the song of wind- Monsoons not only adds to beautiful weather outside but also brings in a lot of breezes in the house. So why not add a whimsical note to your home, hang wind chimes by the window and let the chimes soothe your mood.
